Shahid Lt. Selim Shikshalaya is Established on 01 September 1979 by Khaleda Khanam in memory of her Brother Lt. Selim Md. Qumrul Hasan (BirProtik) who was an Army Officer and a valiant freedom fighter of Liberation War of Bangladesh. Prof.Khaleda Khanam was the founder Principal and Head Mistress of the Schoo.

Shahid Md. Qumrul Hasan selim was martyred on 30 January 1972 in a battle, which was fought with Pakistan Army & Biharies at Mirpur Sector-12,Dhaka.
